By what delusion do people think that means not to be a soldier ?
Do violence to no man.... kind of incompatable with being a soldier isn't it.

Try getting into the service when you refuse to do violence..

I'd like nothing better than to see every last one of them put down.

I harbor serious doubt that I'll ever be that lucky.
Please, calling for genocide does absolutely no favour for actual legitimate reasons to oppose Islam.

I think almost everyone, including even the most deluded jihadis, will recognize that this was not part of the plan for al Qaeda. The die-hards will try to cast him as a martyr, but the most obvious conclusion is going to be that God didn't reach out his hand to save a man and a movement which claims his authority and support.

Also, and a loyal American, it strikes me as counter-productive for us to cast bin Laden as a martyr on behalf of the jihadis. Let the murderers who still love him try that and see where it gets them. They don't deserve our support in the effort.

We're far better off. Alive, he's a cause. Dead, he's dirt. And is there any doubt that he is guilty at this point?

Dubya did his part in getting Osama. But his willingness to use torture delayed Osama's death.

The man who ultimately identified the courier resisted torture, but cracked under non-abusing questioning by experienced interrogators.

They are already calling him a martyr, claiming he is stronger dead than alive. So there's that.

Why exactly?

I can see what the U.S. has lost strategically, but other than a political circus sideshow and some possible intelligence leads, I can't see what we've gained.

Had the U.S. taken him alive without fanfare, and bin Laden just vanished, never to be seen again, it would have been a wiser strategy with many benefits.

Dead, he's useless to the U.S., and he became a martyr. He got what he wanted, a martyr's death. He won.

But really, elo, what else could they say? Either way they're going to put the best face on it. Bottom line: they lost the face of their franchise.

Taking him alive and vanishing him without a word would have been psychologically more powerful, and would have left him as a possible bargaining chip, a possible intelligence and propaganda asset, and a potential living witness to the power of the gospel. I'm likely just scratching the surface of benefits to the U.S. ... and Christ.

Osama Bin Laden died a long time ago. I was going to include a link but I couldn't decide on a good enough source. Somebody wrote a book about it. He may have had bad lungs & may have died December 2001 when the CIA or whoever stopped intercepting information or communication that was going by from Bin Laden to his buddies.

I was talking to my mom about this for hours, too, today. She finds it all very interesting. I told her, "Remember when they tried blowing up the World Trade Buildings around 1992 or so, like ten years earlier? They failed on purpose, possibly, so that the airplain-distraction would distract people from the assisting explosives inside the buildings. People would rather believe the lies, anyways. Well, it's been real, kids. Well, until next time, this is Oatmeal Joey Arnold, & Jesus still loves you, Knight. I am on a Proxy right now. I have just levelled up. You may have God 6.0. I am still at Joey 2.0 or less. I have been reading everything you guys have been writing. Very interesting. If Christians can forgive Bin laden, can they forgive me? I will be back with a different face. I am like Michael Jackson, except that my plastic surgery involves proxies & beer. Just kidding about the weed. I mean, I just eat oatmeal.
